Please note I am reviewing a newer version of the Sahara/Atacama, which replace the cork footbed with a different material. These are effectively a more rugged version of the Arizona. Instead of buckles, you get velcro. Instead of a suede outer, you get a water-resistant nylon. While they have a much more aggressive sole than the classic Arizona, these lack a back strap, making them not well-suited for serious hikes. They are fine for shorter, less intensive hikes. (Consider the Tatacoa if you want something similar for longer hikes). They are a bit bulkier and heavier than the Arizona, but are still a fine option for everyday wear. I also like they are much easier to clean, especially the variant without the cork footbed. These run pretty large. I normally wear a size 10, but had to go with size 9.
